2. Receipt and inventory management
Content is transferred from the provider to Portico.
3. Processing and archival deposit
Portico ingests the content into the archive following the specific preservation plan, including validating files, extracting key technical and descriptive metadata, capturing all actions taken on the content, and more.
4. Monitoring and engagement
Portico manages the archive and content on an ongoing basis to ensure security and future accessibility. Regular activities include replicating content, performing fixity checks, validating files as new tools are developed, etc.
5. Content delivery
Content is made available to users at participating institutions under agreed circumstances.
