J-STAGE to preserve e-content with Portico
J-STAGE will preserve its full digital library with Portico, ensuring that important scholarly resources published in Japan will remain available to researchers in perpetuity.
Founded in 1999, J-STAGE is an electronic journal platform developed and managed by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). It offers more than 4.6 million peer-reviewed journal articles, conference proceedings, and other types of academic publications published by academic societies in Japan. The content spans 18 disciplines in Basic Sciences, Life Sciences, Medical & Health Sciences, Engineering, Interdisciplinary Sciences, Humanities, and Social Sciences.
The majority of the content hosted on J-STAGE is freely available to the general public, and this content will be available on an Open Access basis in the case of a trigger event at Portico
“I’m delighted to welcome J-STAGE as a new participant,” commented Kate Wittenberg, Managing Director of Portico. “Together, we will safeguard this content for scholars and students in the future.”
