All participating libraries, including their students, faculty, and staff, gain access to preserved content when specific conditions or “trigger events” cause titles to no longer be available from the publisher or through a successor, including:

  • Cessation of a publisher’s operations
  • Discontinuation of a title by a publisher
  • Back issues no longer offered by a publisher
  • Catastrophic and sustained failure of a publisher’s delivery platform for longer than 90 days

Triggered titles

Triggered journals and ebooks are accessible to all Portico participants, while triggered digital collections (flagged in the list below) are available to all libraries that had previously purchased the collections; Open Access content is available to everyone.
